DAVID PERKINS
I’m David Perkins, guitarist for Eliminator, a ZZ Top tribute band. My journey started in England, where I was inspired by guitar greats like Jimi Hendrix and John Frusciante. As I developed as a player, I became fascinated by the session legends behind artists like Michael Jackson—guitarists like Steve Lukather and Paul Jackson Jr., whose work shaped countless iconic tracks. I also became obsessed with virtuosos like Eric Johnson, Shawn Lane, and Guthrie Govan—who was actually my teacher for a while.
I studied guitar at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM), then made the leap to the U.S., where Eliminator opened the door to big opportunities. From playing my first professional gigs to performing coast-to-coast, one of the highlights was rocking the United Center in Chicago during a Blackhawks game in front of over 20,000 fans and 1.5 million TV viewers.
Being part of Eliminator has allowed me to blend my diverse influences into the music, and I’m grateful for the chance to perform with a group that honors ZZ Top’s legacy. It’s been an amazing journey, and I’m excited to continue sharing this music with fans everywhere.
